If you came along to our Kaleido Issue 3 Launch, you would have had the pleasure of either witnessing or participating in an intimate drawing session with the talented Nena Salobir. Drawing people while they draw her, has been an ongoing project for Nena, having collected over 500 portraits to help shape a Self Portrait in Society. No matter the previous drawing experience of the participant, every portrait is so unique and captures a different perspective than the last, showcasing everybody’s ability to be an artist.
We’ve been watching this project unfold, and are so excited that it’s time to showcase all the amazing works! To make all of this possible, Nena has launched a crowdfunding campaign to bring this amazing event to the beautiful COMMUNE warehouse in Waterloo. The night will include an exhibition of the portraits, installations, digital mashups and live performance art. And for those across the seas, a virtual reality version will bring the exhibition directly to you.
Head to her kickstarter campaign to grab tickets to the Sydney launch (or virtual experience), signed prints, original artworks, a private art experience and many more goodies. We will see you at the launch!
